The Band Club is contemporary with the surrounding listed buildings just off the historic market square in Brackley. Before we took it over in 1979, the building had been the British Legion Club for many years, and going way back it is believed to have originally been a Vinegar Factory, possibly linked with the long gone Hopcraft and Norris Brewery across the market square.

Originally a long 3 story building, we have modernised and converted the ground floor into a large social club, with a partition door toward one end of the counter to create a semi-separate louge bar. The upper 2 floors that had low ceilings have been converted into a single large airy room where the bands rehearse, which has its own bar and lounge area at one end, and a small kitchen and storage for all the band instruments and music library off it enabling us to clear the room for events. We have toilets both upstairs and down.

Meeting or Training Room

We can seat up to 50 people in our upstairs room, and have plenty of tables.  The room is rigged with an HD projector, large screen and AV Amplifier system, with the option of feeding in Satellite TV, DVD or output from a computer. As an example, during the recent world cup, a local company hired the room for a full afternoon meeting, followed by a live england match with drinks from the bar for their employees.

Local societies often use the lounge bar for meetings on quieter nights of the week.

Party Room

We have a proven track record of hosting fabulous parties in our upstairs function room for the children of members, and can also offer a theming service, where we will decorate the room and lay on suitable activitites. The kitchen, with oven and microwave, is suitable for preparing a hot buffet.

Concert Venue

Although not suitable for something the size of our full Brass Band, we often host smaller bands and new local talent. A local light and sound firm often use our room for testing new equipment, and so through them we can offer a proper stage rig for any local bands who aren’t yet at the stage of owning their own equipment.

Rehearsal Facilities

Brass Bands on their way up the motorway to a local Contest often pop in for an hour or two last minute rehearsal – Even Black Dyke have used our rehearsal room! We can set up the band room ready for you, including use of our percussion instruments, and provide refreshments.

The purpose of the club is to support local music so any local bands, particularly younger people starting their first band, are always welcome to use our facilities. We can also be the venue for your first gig, and will help wherever we can.

Darts Competitions

Our Darts Throws, 1 in the main bar, and 3 more in our function room has allowd us to regularly host the local darts league finals. Even with 4 games on the go, there is still plenty of room left for spectators and socialising at the bars or buffet.
